Prince George’s County Public Schools

District Partner 2010-present

In the spring of 2010, ERS launched a partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), an urban district just outside of Washington DC that serves over 121,000 students in almost 200 schools. In the fall of 2010, ERS will work with the district to create a resource map that will help district leaders examine how they are currently using their resources and where they might rethink practices and policies to reallocate in a way that better supports student learning. Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, this partnership will run until September 2011.

Work Focus

The Resource Map will explore questions such as

  • How are PGCPS currently using their people, time, and money and does it align with the district’s vision for students?
  • How do PGCPS’ strategies compare to other urban districts?
  • What opportunities does PGCPS have to reallocate resources to more effectively improve student achievement?
