Regis leads the Human Capital practice area and client projects focused on our core mapping practice. She has led work in many districts including Boston, Rochester, and Philadelphia, helping them to examine current resource use and reallocate to support district priorities, including extensive work analyzing the impact of union contracts as well as support for low-performing schools. Regis has worked closely with Rochester over the past few years helping implement a weighted student funding system that supports the district’s academic goals. Regis also directed our in-depth study of small high schools, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, examining how high-performing small high schools allocate their people, time, and money.
Prior to ERS, Regis served as Director of High School Reform in Providence Public School District and was responsible for design and implementation of a strategic framework to transform Providence high schools into small personalized learning communities. Regis also served as Special Assistant to the Superintendent of the Providence Schools, leading strategic planning, redesigning systems and procedures, and developing policy. Before her work in Rhode Island, Regis was a public finance lawyer at Rogers & Wells and at Moody’s Investors Service.
Regis’ quest for adventure has taken her all over the world—from white water rafting in Chile to trekking in Thailand to biking through Bali to sitting on the porch overlooking the Montana foothills—she enjoys spending time outdoors doing new things. These travels also inspire her artistic side, giving her ideas for her drawings, photographs, knitting, and just creating. On most summer weekends you can find Regis on her bike riding the Minuteman Trail, while the cold winter months are spent hibernating with a good book or movie or exploring her new found passion, yoga. Her most special moments in life are those spent hanging out with her six nieces and nephews.
